Simone Jeanne Sposari

December 31, 1934 ~ January 2, 2022 (age 87)

If you're reading this, I've gone home to be with My husband and my parents. My name is Simone Jeanne Sposari and I lived a wonderful life. If we hadn't met, just know if we would have then I would have met you with a smile and offered you a cocktail. For those that know me, and if you'd like to know more, keep reading.

Bonjour! My name is Simone. My parents grew up in France. I was born and raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey (just across the Hudson River from New York City). I speak French fluently. My favorite color is red, and I never go anywhere without my lipstick and my nails painted red (even when I was a young girl). My father worked at Coty, a make-up manufacturer in New York. He brought me many gifts of make-up and the most beautiful fragrances. In school, I enjoyed being a majorette.

When I was young, my best friend, Doris, and I climbed a tree and watched concerts at Palisades Park. The most notable performers we saw were Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and The Beatles.

I met my husband, Joe, in high school. We were high school sweethearts and married in 1957. I worked at the Bell Labs. My girlfriend, Ellen, and I would run all over New York City in our heels to work and then meet the boys for cocktails.

My husband and I love entertaining. During one of our many parties, we found ourselves with our dear friends Jackie, Tony, Ellen, and Al all crammed into our tiny two-room apartment bathroom roaring with laughter. Joe and I had many cocktail parties and even had a restaurant at a country club in upstate New York.

My husband and I moved to Alexandria, VA, just outside of Washington, DC, to raise our boys.

I am survived by our sons, Leon and Paul. Leon graced us with two grandsons, Joseph and Vincent, and a granddaughter Simone. My great-grandson, Liam, (son of my grandson Joseph) is the newest addition to our growing family.

Is it 5? Because I'm ready for wine and potato chips! Salute to a beautiful life.
